Port of Palm Beach Summer Internship Program Kicks Off Next Month

The Port of Palm Beach received internship applications from 20 applicants. According to staff members who have worked at the Port for decades, this is the highest number of applications we have ever received for the internship program. Department Directors will be interviewing the finalists the third and fourth week of May. By the end of the month, the selection committee will hire at least seven interns. Those who are selected for the program will be attending an orientation Friday, June 9 at 9:30 am. Port staff has scheduled six Port Activity Days for the interns to explore the different operations at the Port. The six-week internship program commences Tuesday, June 20th.

Protecting Florida Manatees

The Port partnered with Friends of Manatee Lagoon to add manatee area caution signs on both the north and south ends of the Port's waterway. Friends of Manatee Lagoon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding environmental education opportunities for all ages in Palm Beach County and beyond through enhanced exhibits and experiential learning opportunities. The nonprofit funded the signs and the Port's facilities team installed the signs near Berth 1 and Berth 17.
