The Port of Palm Beach recently hired two new employees.

Welcome aboard Thania Watler.

Thania joins us from Overtime Building and Maintenance Services, where she would regularly maintain the offices in the Maritime Office Complex.

The former certified nurse assistant, changed careers two years ago to spend more time with her four children.

Originally from Honduras, she immigrated to the U.S. when she was just 12 years old. She is now a resident of West Palm Beach.

She enjoys cooking, entertaining family and friends, dancing and reading a good book.

Thania says she was interested in working at the at the Port because employees made her feel welcomed and appreciated.

Her official start date was July 28.

Welcome aboard Austin Doiron. Austin is the newest member of the Port's security team.

Prior to working at the Port, Austin was employed with the Port's contracted security company Weiser Security Services.

During his time with Weiser, he became familiarized with the Port's security policies.

Austin, who is from Ontario, Canada, but lives in Royal Palm Beach, attended school at Champlain College where he began studying software development.

While his long-term career goal is to work in the information technology field, he believes the Port is a place where he can grow and succeed.

Next time you see Austin at a security gate, make sure to say hi. He loves a good chat!
