[ARCHIVED] Thank you for Supporting our Seafarers

Robert Davis delivering gift box to Tropic Opal crew

A big thank you to everyone who donated to the Care Package Drive. We received donations from Tropical Shipping, Heavy Lift Services/ Gulfstream Line, CEMEX and Port employees.

The donations were delivered to the Port of Palm Beach Seafarers' Center Friday afternoon.

Their members tell us this is the best “Christmas At Sea” thus far.

The nonprofit will be packaging the donations in holiday wrapped gift boxes.

They will begin delivering to each vessel

Port of Palm Beach will be hosting a Care Package Drive during the month of November to benefit the seafarers who dock at our port. We are asking all of you to help us collect the following items:

• White socks
 • Small calendars
 • Slim Jims
 • Jerky
 • Energy bars
 • Granola breakfast cars
 • Candy
 • Mints
 • Cookies
 • Chocolates
 • Single potato chip bags
 • Magazines (Preferably National Geographic)

We will be assembling the packages the week of Thanksgiving and will then deliver the packages to the Port of Palm Beach Seafarers' Center for its “Christmas at Sea” initiative. With the cruise ship in Port this year, we are estimating more than 600 mariners visiting our Port during the holidays.
