Port of Palm Beach Updates

Posted on: September 13, 2017

[ARCHIVED] Port Status: Post-Hurricane Irma

After Hurricane Irma passed through Palm Beach County over the weekend, the Port of Palm Beach's operations, security and facility management teams arrived on site on Monday morning, September 11, 2017, in order to ascertain the damages sustained and begin clean-up efforts. Our tenants' essential staff arrived at the Port starting at 11 am, to join in surveying the conditions. Power and air conditioning were quickly restored to the Maritime Office Complex, which houses the Administrative Offices and Cruise Terminal.  By Tuesday morning at 8:30 am, the Port's Administrative Offices re-opened and work resumed. On Wednesday morning, the U.S. Coast Guard Survey Team conducted its required assessments. After a thorough survey, the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port determined that the Port of Palm Beach was safe for marine traffic and downgraded the Port Condition from Zulu to normal operating conditions, as of 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 13. Tropical Shipping's Caribe Legend was the first vessel welcomed back to the Port, followed by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line's Grand Celebration, at around 12:45 pm.
