The Port of Palm Beach’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive was a resounding success, thanks to the generous support of our port community. Over $4,000 worth of gifts were collected and donated to children in Western Palm Beach County, spreading holiday cheer to those in need.
On Friday, December 13th, Deputy Director of Operations and Administration Beatrice Greffin, Public Information Officer Yaremi Farinas, and Locomotive Engineer Todd Scaife made the trip to Belle Glade to deliver the toys. The team was warmly received by the Mayor Steve Wilson, City Manager Lomax Harrelle ,and Council Members Dr. Robert L. Rease and Tequella Collins, who expressed their deep gratitude for the donation.
These gifts will be distributed at a community event the week of December 16th, where children from Belle Glade, Pahokee, and South Bay are invited to join in the holiday festivities.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our generous donors: Ozinga, Stonerock Shipping, Gonzalez and Sons Equipment, Inc., the Port of Palm Beach Seafarers' Center, Executive Director Michael Meekins, Deputy Director Beatrice Greffin, and Sgt. Jeff Farr for making this meaningful contribution possible. Thank you to the members of our Port social committee for playing Santa's elves this year and completing the shopping.
Your kindness has made the holidays brighter for many children in our community. Thank you for your unwavering support!
