Port Executive Director participates in "Seaports Day" at Florida's CapitolPort of Palm Beach Executive Director Manuel Almira spent the first week of February in Tallahassee, along with other port leaders and seaport professionals.
While in Tallahassee, members of the Florida Ports Council provided insight on how the pandemic has shed light on Florida's port efficiencies, no-lines no-waiting strategy and the ports 24-hour operations.
Governor Ron DeSantis later declared February 3rd as Seaports Day in Florida.
“This Seaports Day, I want to thank all of the people working to keep our ports open 24/7 to ensure that goods are getting from ship to shelf efficiently in order to combat our nation’s supply chain crisis,” Governor Ron DeSantis said.
Seaports Day at the Capitol provided Executive Director Almira an opportunity to speak with state legislators about the Port of Palm Beach's upcoming capital improvement projects.
