Members of the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation visited the Port of Palm Beach on Tuesday, September 26th. 
Delegation Chairwoman and State Senator Tina Polsky, State Representative Joe Casello, Representative Peggy Gossett-Seidman, State Representative David Silvers and staffers from other legislative offices started off with a tour of Tropical Shipping Headquarters located less than half a mile from the Port of Palm Beach. 
There the delegation met with Tropical Shipping’s President Tim Martin, CEO Jeff Fiser, Director of Government and Community Affairs Jennifer. There the delegation met with Tropical Shipping’s President Tim Martin, CEO Jeff Fiser, Director of Government and Community Affairs Jennifer Nugent- Hill and other representatives. Tropical Shipping’s representatives provided the delegation with an overview of the company, the importance of its cargo services to the Caribbean and how the company and Port play a critical role in the county and state economies.

The delegation was then escorted to the warehouse to see the cargo operations in action.
From there, they took a short Palm Tran bus ride to the Port of Palm Beach. Director of Planning Carl Baker showed the delegation the container yard, raw sugar terminal and other operations taking place at the Port. 
The tour continued with a delicious three-course meal at Fins Dining on the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise cruise ship. Lunch kicked off with opening remarks from Board Chairwoman Dr. Jean L. Enright.

During the luncheon, members of the delegation had an opportunity to speak with Port Commissioners, Dr. Enright and Secretary/ Treasurer Deandre Poole and Executive Director Michael Meekins about critical issues impacting the Port.
