Draft Restrictions November 2007

Soundings were taken from our Pilot Boat Fathometer after the passing of Tropical Storm Noel.

There has been some shoaling to the North and South Quarter of the Inlet.

Due to the shoaling and narrowing of the Entrance Channel, it is necessary for us to increase draft

restrictions until accurate soundings are performed.

All oil products are restricted to 29’-00” High Water Slack and all inbound cargo vessels to 30’-00” HWS.

Outbound vessels are limited to 30’-06” HWS.  Vessels over 85 foot beam or 600 foot LOA will most

likely have further restrictions depending upon the cargo and handling characteristics of each vessel.

Please keep in mind that further shoaling may occur should we experience additional adverse weather.

All parties who have vessels close to the above limitations should keep in close contact with our office

prior to the arrival of these vessels for any changes.

Vessels arriving within 3 feet of the maximum allowable draft for the Port of Palm Beach will be

restricted to transiting at High Water Slack. All drafts are for salt water.

Please contact our office should you have any questions.

Sincerely, Capt. Matthew L. Rigby
