The Florida District
Export Council and the US Commercial Service in
cooperation with The World Trade Center Palm Beach
presented a manufacturing roundtable with Congressman E.
Clay Shaw on March 19, 2004 at the Port of Palm Beach
The roundtable focused on
the challenges currently facing US manufacturers and what
may be done to address them. In a national series of
manufacturing roundtables conducted by the US Department
of Commerce, many issues were identified affecting US
manufacturing competitiveness, such as innovating
processes and products, increasing efficiency, controlling
costs, government regulation, taxes, tort liability,
health care costs, energy supplies and education. A copy
of this report was distributed to all roundtable
participants.
The event was sponsored by
WTC Palm Beach, Port of Palm Beach, and the South Florida
Manufacturers Association.
