Manage all the Ships?
- Which Commissioner is in My

No; The Port of Palm Beach is a Landlord Port. We
lease land, warehouses, and slip (berth) space to
our tenants. The tenants (companies) own their own
ships. When inquiring about a ship or company, it is
best to contact them direct. Especially concerning
our daily casino cruises, the
Palm Beach Princess,
and Sun Cruz.
The Port of Palm Beach District covers south of
Donald Ross Road down to Southern Boulevard, and
from Lake Okeechobee all the way out to the Atlantic
Ocean. All five elected commissioners must live
within this district and all five are voted on by
all registered voters living in this district. The
district commissioners are divided into
five groups, but all in the community vote for each
group.
Tropical Shipping is the container shipping
tenant at the Port of Palm Beach. However, they only
ship to the Caribbean (with exception to two
locations in South America and one location in
Canada). You can learn more about Tropical Shipping
here. Other tenants
such as Palm Beach Steamship,
Teeters and
Gulfstream
handle shipping, too, but are also limited to the
Caribbean. You can contact any of our tenants by
visiting the Port's
directory. Those
tenants will help you find out where you can ship
items to outside of the Caribbean.
Parking at the Port of Palm
Beach is convenient and varies in price depending on
how close you want to be to the
Cruise Terminal.
Self parking is $6.00; you may walk to distance of
the parking lot to the terminal, or wait for our
tram to pick you up. Valet parking is $10.00; the
service puts you just steps from the terminal's
entrance.
In the past, several ships
have operated out of the Port of Palm Beach with
direct service to the Bahamas. The most recent ship
was a ferry called the Cloud X, operated by Party
Line Cruises. However, due to several hurricanes and
rising fuel costs, the Cloud X was terminated. The
Port of Palm Beach Business Development division is
currently marketing the cruise terminal to cruise
operators in hopes of bringing in more port-of-call
(visits by ships) and one day home-porting a
multi-day ship. You can find passenger operations
out of Port Everglades, Port of Miami and Canaveral
Port Authority.
