The Port of Palm Beach District is an independent special
taxing district (autonomous port), a subdivision of the
State of Florida, and is governed by a five-member board
of elected commissioners. The
Port
of Palm Beach is situated in Riviera Beach, Palm Beach
County, Florida, and is a top twenty container port in the
United States, in addition to handling substantial bulk,
breakbulk and heavylift volumes, as well as passengers.
Compensation
Salary negotiable. Excellent benefits, including major
medical and the Florida Retirement System.
Duties
The executive director reports to the elected Port of Palm
Beach District Commission and oversees a staff of approximately
60, while interfacing extensively with port users and
tenants, as well as local government.
The executive director is responsible for the overall
operation of the Port and enhancing Port revenue.
Credentials
Candidates for this position must possess executive
director or deputy level seaport management experience and
extensive knowledge in the various aspects of the port
industry. Candidates must have a
four-year college degree.
